Fujitsu launched a demonstration project in December 2025 to study the environmental value transfer mechanism of green steel within the steel industry chain. B50A470 Non oriented electrical steel, This project has been selected as part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's (METI) 2025 fiscal year Industrial Technology Research Project.
This demonstration project, running from December 2025 to February 2026, focuses on the secure distribution of environmental value data related to green steel. B50A470 Non oriented electrical steel, Fujitsu combines its technological capabilities in materials carbon dioxide reduction, blockchain technology, and data distribution platforms to ensure data integrity, transaction confidentiality, and the reliable transmission of environmental attribute information.
The project's main research topic is how to smoothly transfer the environmental value, including emission reduction vouchers issued by steel companies, along the supply chain from upstream producers to downstream users without double-counting or value loss. The experiment also assesses the potential operational and commercial challenges faced by various supply chain participants after introducing such a mechanism.
As part of the experiment, Fujitsu is building a data distribution platform to ensure the traceability of corporate and industry data. This platform is based on the Fujitsu Sustainable Value Accelerator solution, a crucial component of Fujitsu's Uvance business framework supporting green transformation.
Based on collaborations with stakeholders in the steel industry, the experiment encompassed the distribution of third-party certified green steel certificates to verify the uniqueness of environmental value, prevent double counting, and ensure the continued validity of certificates as materials undergo intermediate processing or different distribution paths.
Based on the results of this experiment, Fujitsu plans to explore establishing a broader green steel information distribution mechanism starting in 2026 and to study the feasibility of expanding into the steel industry's data space. B50A470 Non oriented electrical steel, The company hopes to use this to promote the green and digital transformation of the steel industry and help build a supply chain system capable of securely sharing trusted environmental value data across national and industry borders.
